Would like to know if anyone has knowledge of how to disconnect smog system without messing it up. bought it for 1,000 crashed and i fixed it up and its great!!

I have had it axle deep in snow and sand and she never fails to get me home. My problem now is getting general parts, they are getting harder to come byI bought the truck new and all but one issue it has held up. Not the fastest thing on the block, but will mount 33 inch tires on it stock, and can drive through 3 feet of water no problem. I can't tell you how dependable and trustworthy this vehicle has been and still is. Trailer had brakes, but they were not hooked up. Mine has the Chevy V6 with the 3500 lb towing package. transmission computer after 8 years. Has 155k on it now and haven't put a penny in it except for oil changes and a few engine upgrades. Header installed!Bought used from orignal owner with 80K in 2005. Gets 20 mpg still today. And yes, speeds dropped as low as 18 mph up some of the big grades, but it did not stop. I brought my new daughter home from the hospital in it so I could never sell it for that reason alone, but I wouldn't sell it anyway, this vehicle has always been there for me. So I've owned my Trooper for a year since Feb Built sensibly and thoroughly. Good power and torque.
UPDATE: Now it is at 391,000 miles, and I just towed a 9,000 lb trailer coast-to-coast (3000 miles) with no mechanical problems whatsoever. Simple. When they moved on to their own vehicles I took it over and modified her up and turned her into a baja exploration vehicle.
Otherwise, expected maintenance. I have driven it 18 years now and put on 190,000 miles. Bought mine 2nd hand in 1998 for my 2 teenagers to share.
