The vendors change from year to year, so there's always a reason to keep coming back. $5 to park in a near by garage (that's a bargain to me) walk up and down 6th street a few times. For those of you who don't know about this festival, you will find no Pecans there. If you like scented candles, tie-dyed shirts and meat on a stick, this is the "art" show for you.Supposedly this is an art festival, but there is no actual "art" here, unless you consider beaded jewelry, novelty items and trinkets to be art. brought out by the locals as well as those all throughout Texas is outstanding. Seems to be more sales-y stuff now & less arts & artisans.I always enjoy the Pecan Street Festival, but I LOVE the festival when the sun is shining, which it was this year (at least on the Saturday I went).There are always going to be Bitter Bettys out there that complain about Austin changing, and things not being as cool as they once were, but ya know what? was great and there were several new vendors peddling their wares.
There are bands food stalls portable bars and the whole street is alive all the bars are full of people the bands are playing people are singing and dancing and walking in the street and it starts at 8 in the morning and ends at 10 in the evening I believe. Maybe jewelry, funky socks, beauty products or a new set of knives - it's all there for the taking. Fantastic and pure sugar deliciousness.

We've been to multiple birthday parties…""Our experience was absolutely wonderful. The booking process was seamless. It takes over the entire dirty 6th for the weekend. Nothing new and exiting.I was disappointed with this year's Pecan Festival. Still a fun day, but I usually come for specific things in mind & my fav vendors are there sometimes & sometimes they're not. You can find candles here too and a lot of local stuff. I believe the massive influx of outsiders having moved to Austin has made things more commercialized - boring!!! It's just another LemmingFest, like all the other bread-and-circuses attractions Austin hosts to keep the dimwitted masses entertained.You know, I like this festival.
