For a little 'Western Adventure', cycle along a 23km park connector that takes you through eight parks in the northwestern part of Singapore. All fungi do not have chlorophyll which is found in green plants and therefore cannot produce their food through photosynthesis. The nature reserve is about 12 kilometres from the Downtown Core, Singapore's central business district. Its humid in the forest so bring water to hydrate yourself.
There is a broad, paved road up to the top, as well as a few quite well maintained footpaths through the forest. The first 10 minutes of the walk is on a steep gradient but it evens out later. Originally, the area was earmarked for pig farming but after an outbreak of swine fever, Fred Heron, Managing Director of Cold Storage, decided that there was a need for high quality, fresh milk in Singapore and converted the area to a milk farm instead.
