I hope so. All things considered, i think most likely that the Runewars figures and the Descent figures are probably pretty close in scale, such that painting them and using them for flavor NPCs on the battlefield or for conversions is probably a very safe bet.I believe that some of the descent minis from different expansions have slightly different scales to them as well. Has anyone seen them side-by-side with the Runewars figures? The gray mage is Leoric from Descent and even though the Spearmen are wearing plate, they still look a little larger (but not by a lot). But, on the other hand, you have Ardus Ix'Erebus from Descent:That appears to be the exact same model as the one from Runewars Mini Game, so either (1) they recast him in a different scale at the exact same pose (unlikely, imo), or (2) the figures are generally the same scale.Next, there is this comparison shot that shows the Descent Skeleton shopped to have the same proportions as one of the Runewars Mini Game Skeletons:Finally, the sculptor that created several of the minis in the starter set posted this pic:Note that he did not sculpt the two heroes (or rather, he didnt seem to do so for this most recent project), so maybe the scales are just a little off? For example, Syndrael makes a better Knight thematically, and Grisban is clearly a Berserker; however, since both are Warriors, you could choose either class for either hero. Though I've been a bit stingy about sticking to the artwork, he has added just enough creative touches and stylistic choices for these to bear his signature, which is way more meaningful to me than figures painted in a factory. However, The bases on the Runewars figures are a hair taller and have a small peg in the middle on the underside that slotted into the base. Michael took the pictures, too, but stood them on Most of my 28mm figures were bigger by comparison, I believe - models from Games Workshop (older stuff, not the new giant figures), Privateer Press, Reaper Bones, etc.Yeah, descent minis are more 28mm truescale.
Unlike RPGs and other similar fantasy games, the characters' races are purely thematic and have no bearing on gameplay, but I noted them anyway. The pics I've seen of the two side by side lead me to believe rune wars are more like 32mm. And my cat, JynxI f I do get into the game I would get the undead...are there any expansion packs for the board game that have undead figs?I f I do get into the game I would get the undead...are there any expansion packs for the board game that have undead figs?Nothing concrete (official) yet on stuff other than the Core set but I'd say we're pretty confident that there'll be expansion boxes for both factions which include all the units plus others not found in the core set.I'll totally use my Descent models as stand in for various modelsis the "Skarn" golem pack a unit for the undead? If the character is 170cm high, then they are 1/58 scale miniatures. Most others like GW are more like 32 mm or 28mm "heroic scale". Battlelore 2nd Edition figures are a much smaller scale. It's hard to say because on one hand you have this picture, which makes it look like Runewars will be slightly heroic scale relative to Descent.
Some might wish they came painted already, but I've thoroughly enjoyed waiting to see my brother's latest work.
It does look smallI think they're slowly trying to correct their "scale mistakes" and bring the Descent dudes in line with most "28mm scale" figures (i.e., a bit more on the heroic, larger side)Its in the original 2nd edition boxed set, so as old as they come.Size comparison between the Leoric figure from the D2nd core set, and the Ardus figure from the newest expansion Chains that Rust. The rest of the models (like the monsters in the original box) are a bit of a step down, in my opinion. If I remember correctly, the Descent minis are a little on the small side. I own some warhammer miniatures and I saw that the heroes in descent are smaller than wh ones is like WH uses 28mm while descent uses 25, not so Descent minis are probably gonna look a little small. They are proportioned like my historicals albeit with some heroic scale stuff thrown in. In Descent, lieutenants are bosses, and a campaign's story revolves around them and their nefarious undertakings. In terms of attributes and toughness, they have more in common with heroes than regular monsters. In miniature wargaming, players enact simulated battles using scale models called miniature models, which can be anywhere from 2 mm to 54 mm in height, to represent warriors, vehicles, artillery, buildings, and terrain. These models are colloquially referred to as miniatures or minis.. Miniature models are commonly made of metal, plastic, or paper. Hi folks. Descent minis are probably gonna look a little small.
Descent: Journeys in the Dark (2nd Edition) is an epic board game of dungeon-delving adventure for 2-5 players. My brother painted the heroes' bases the color of their archetype, which I think adds nice continuity between the figure and the class cards (which are similarly colored).
