No problem about this but the so called adentures of the child were rather pathetic and I gave up half way through. it is a very good book, and all the novels from "la Comtesse De Segur" are very rich and nourishing, it will make you appreciate life today. IT'S VERY WELL WRITTEN. I study French, so this was a nice, free book to test my comprehension and further it.
It's great to revisit my youth.

However, even without re-reading it now, I can highly recommend it to anyone who speaks as much French as the average 10 year old French child - and has a dictionary, or, like myself, has the English version kept from 60 or so years ago.
