Would recommend. It is a sanctuary of peace and nature. Before my trip, I couldn't find any reviews indicating whether one night would be sufficient or if two nights were necessary--I ended up staying two nights, and enjoyed it--I spent much of the second day just relaxing in my room reading a book in front of the stunning all-glass wall view. Our room was not ready when we arrived (it was a major check-in/out day and the lobby was chaotic) but we had some lunch and explored a bit. We chose to stay at the Swissotel Hotel the night before for our pick up, which was great. They even made me hot chocolate with non dairy milk which was hands down the best hot chocolate I’ve had which isn’t hard to believe since Ecuador produces such delicious chocolate. The hikes around the reserve were mesmerizing, specially those in the early mornings were birds and other beautiful animals accompanied us. Projects like Mashpi allow the city slickers to appreciate nature.
