We spent over a thousand dollars and 2 months in the planning to have my grandchildren and adult children spend a end of the summer relaxing summer getaway. We rented out Arcadia for my boyfriend's birthday. We had no cell phones, no car key, no money, Russian River Getaways was closed, and it was a long walk to the nearest town. The Russian River looks perfect on a map - one hour away, a beautiful river valley filled with Redwoods. The location is beautiful and the house is very well taken care of.

Nature lovers enjoy the outdoors along the Russian River, especially the redwood forest - and the Pacific Ocean isn't far away. Enjoy the laid-back, delightful blend of cool water, towering trees, dappled sunlight, and unique resort towns.

Russian River Getaways wouldn't give us any money back, but they would offer us a bigger house in another location for an additional $600 (on top of what we were already paying). Summer has its appeal when it's hot enough to get out and enjoy a day of water play, but the weather is best in spring and fall - and it's less crowded then, too. Next on day two with sitting in the common area in back of the property with has no fence and is the back of three homes including our rental. Alas, our recent trip over the New Year confirmed my worst fears. I asked the gentleman who took my reservations which house he recommends for a nice long weekend away on the river WITH A HOT TUB and he recommended JUJUBE house. The staff was very responsive to my requests and made me very comfortable. The creek access was thrilling for the dogs. But we should have been more clearly warned.
