Parsons Trail is pretty popular, especially in summer, because of a large deep swimming hole about a 1/4 mile past Summers Spring. I went in May, and the water was a little chilly, but refreshing. Along this creek there are several holes deep enough to swim in, some rapids, and even a rope swing. The drive to the trail is fairly easy, the last few miles are washboard dirt road and the last half-ish mile has some good size divots from being washed out in the rain, but as long as you take it slowly there is no need for a lifted car. There were quite a lot of people swimming and making a lot of noise at the first swimming hole, but past that the trail was mostly quiet. Just under 2 miles out and 2 miles back. Like most other areas of the state, a visit here in summer will be hot but swimming in the pool and feeling the waterfall’s mist is worth the effort it takes to get here.
The hike here is extremely short and not that difficult but sometimes you don’t need to work that hard to see something amazing.Those were pretty amazing! I only went to the first swimming hole, and apparently there are more. Watch for the trail markings, because some of them can be confusing.
