Terminus is an alternative to Windows' standard terminal (conhost), PowerShell ISE, PuTTY or iTerm Terminus is not a new shell or a MinGW or Cygwin replacement. They are very similar, and the English word "terminal" stems from the Latin root "terminus". In many cases, it's just a bus stop.
As a Windows 10 UWP app it looks and feels very native. The amount of resources it consumes is not justifiable.Sadly, Electron strikes again. I don't use "bus terminal" in either case; I take it to be the AmE equivalent of BrE "bus station".

English but my first language was German Secondly, the full phrase, "bus terminus", is likely to occur far less often than simply "terminus" (if it's already been established that the context is that of buses), so the ngram doesn't fully represent the use of "terminus" in the context of buses. In my (British) English, "terminus" in the bus context is generic.
