Shouldnt this belong on the general chart forum of total war games instead of 3K's general chat? I have to point out this thread just screams of... The Victoria era has been suggested many times, and would be one of my favorite times, but "almost" anything from the late 1500's to the late 1800's would be great, imo. I'm 100% sure, the next title would be a game with gunpoweder. The best you could hope for is that CA decides to go back to Rome 2 again and release more content and update the game further. If you read the latest 3k 'business practicess' blog update from overnight, they talk about 3k having chapter packs; I think think is a great idea and could potentially work in other settings as well like medieval times. I see no reason 3K would be different. I don't think so.
Won't be for quite a while, though. I just want better looking graphics to see how they would be in today's possibilities. Medieval 3, while epic, should probably happen after Empire 2 or w/e they'll call it.

I completely agree with other posters that said the innovative overhaul of diplomacy and characters found in TK would work perfectly in more authentically depicting the nature of medieval Europe, especially the mechanics of rising through the ranks from a marquis or duke to emperor, and appointing different characters to positions in the government. I could see some kind of feudalism mechanic that is an expansion and combination of 3K's character management and ToB's estates mechanic.
