It is still looks like when I would bring my kids, NOTHING has changed at all. They grew up and we didn't come back as life goes on. Pulled out every trick in the book but finally went and got the firelogs in the package. We met the owner as we were checking in and picking up the keys. The cabin is the same as before back many years.
Easy access to the cabin. Gas station has some grocery items, the bakery around the corner has delicious breakfast burritos, scones & pie. And there is the steps up.
What a beautiful place, no. Only bad thing was the bed was old and hard and cabin was like going to grandmas for the weekend hand made drapes in the bathroom. FIVE classic cabins in the Village on one .55 acre lot. There's also a zoo and the Museum of Space History in Alamogordo. We expected to shop around, but at the recommendation of a waitress we tried this place and fell in love. Each has 1 bedroom, fireplace, full kitchen & bath. A peaceful, wonderful place to rest and rejuvenate.
My father tried to explain what he thought had happened and offered to paybfor the room for the night anyways. Large bathroom and full shower/bath combo. If you have the slightest issues with old mattresses, keep looking. Kind of disappointing but not trip ending.
Each unit has a kitchen, fireplace, cable TV and full-size bath. They are nice, but in a tolerant way.
No pictures on the wall...no rustic touches...and NO MICROWAVE. We accept reservations with a credit card or deposit for first night's lodging.

10 was perfect! See you next time!! no one was being loud and the kids were not running around everywhere, they were all sitting at the picnic table, it was about 5pm. Also, we'd recommend checking out the Old Apple Barn on 82: it's a gift shop with some really fantastic fudge made on site.

Great shower pressure, comfy sleeping quarters, very clean & wildlife right at your door. they ended up leaving and didnt even get to eat, so we had a lot of food go to waste because it was already on the grill, the owners came by againWe had a wonderfully restful time at the Tall TImber Cabins.
It was hidden in the woods, secluded under tall evergreens and part of a duplex. No pets allowed during Christmas/New Year's holidays.
Good size cabin with king size bed. Above are examples of the interiors and exterior of a duplex unit. The owner was friendly and down-to-earth; the clean, rustic little cabins are adorably tucked away with every amenity you need: kitchen, cozy living room, roll-out couch, quilted master bed, bath, even a fireplace and hearth.
We slept with windows open.
David was wonderful. Near the main hwy. An hour or so later the owner/ manager called my father and immediately began cussing so loudly we could all hear.
There was never any foul language from anyone.We had planned to drive through to White Sands but a rainstorm intervened. The owners were nice and congenial but the cabin was totally outdated and run down.
View Larger Map. my husband ran into his coworker and his family in town as well as a friend who was staying at another campsite and told them to come over to eat and then we could all go back into town to enjoy the festivities going on, the owner came over and said we paid for 4 people not 20 (there were only 12 of us) and this was not party central, and that he may have to ask us to leave. Unlike some of the other Cloudcroft accommodations which featured cabins very close in proximity to each other and near a well-travelled highway, Tall Timber Cabins was located in a sparsely inhabited residential neighborhood with enough distance between each cabin to give a feeling of isolation. I did not feel the cabin was clean, we ran out of hot water everyday, and the towels and sheets were dingy. The owner, Dave, was very accomodating. No updates to the cabin, carpet dirty, towels looked overused, the kitchen table sticky. Excellent potential for good long term rental income. The interaction ended with an apology from your parents to us. And then there is the bed.

Our individual cabins, # 6 thru #10, each have a queen size bed in the bedroom and a queen size sofa sleeper in the living room. Tall Timbers was good place to just chill out at.
It was like a step backwards in time and totally reminded me of the house my grandparents lived in.
